Course description
High school students do not arrive disengaged by accident. By 9th or 10th grade, many have spent years learning which classes are worth their time, which tasks actually count, and what happens when they try and fail in front of peers. The same behavior can mean very different things depending on a student's history with the subject, their position in the grading system, and what engaging would cost them. This course helps high school educators use the ABC framework to find what is actually producing the behavior they see. Participants will identify the triggers behind disengagement and select instructional adjustments that address the cause, not just the symptom.
