Course description
This course examines strategies teachers can use to promote meaningful student participation in mathematics discussions. Participants will explore questioning techniques that encourage dialogue, learn the 5 Practices for Orchestrating Productive Mathematics Discussions, and examine classroom routines that support a culture of rich mathematical conversation while advancing students’ mathematical thinking.
