Course description
Middle school disruptions most often cluster around transitions, unstructured talk time, and independent work, especially when students don't have a clear role or sense of purpose. This course focuses on prevention through intentional classroom design: routines, step-by-step instructions, and pacing that reduce power struggles and increase student ownership. Participants will explore how offering choices, building predictable structures, and engineering engagement checkpoints can prevent the behavior patterns that most commonly derail grades 6–8 lessons.
