Course description
When behavior disrupts a middle school classroom, the response matters as much as the behavior itself. Middle schoolers are acutely aware of how they are treated in front of peers, and heavy-handed responses often escalate rather than resolve. This course helps teachers build the kind of respectful, trusting, and consistent relationships that make redirects possible, and respond in ways that de-escalate, preserve the relationship, and keep instruction moving. Participants will build a before-during-after toolkit tailored to the developmental needs of grades 6–8 students.
