COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this course, teachers will learn about aspects of math tasks that make them good for math discussions. We will explore what is meant by low floor/high ceiling, uncover features of tasks that make them discussion-worthy, and engage in thinking about the level of cognitive demand tasks require. Teachers will have an opportunity to rework regular math problems to make them more likely to foster high-quality mathematics discussions in the math classroom.
