Course description
Research shows that learning outcomes improve when students engage in inclusive learning experiences. As we work to build our competencies in inclusive practices, we can use specific lenses to critically examine and strengthen our teaching environments. In this course, we will revisit the importance of inclusive practices and explore how to establish an inclusive learning environment through four lenses: Audit (examining current practices), Relationships (with students and families), Environment (the physical classroom), and Curriculum (academic planning). Using this framework, along with examples and resources, participants will create a plan to enhance current strategies or add new inclusive elements to their own practice.
